  • Yes. We are licensed to build homes in the state of Indiana. Our building contractor’s license is active in Allen County, and can be reciprocated in other counties within the state. We carry general liability insurance for our business, and we also require all of our subcontractors to provide us with a certificate of insurance to keep on file if they will be performing work on our job sites.

  • Generally speaking, we build homes in the greater Fort Wayne area. We are a full service builder that will take care of every aspect of the project so we are able to build on unimproved rural lots, sub-divided land, lake parcels, or anywhere that you are considering purchasing real estate. We would be happy to meet with you at any site to discuss elevation, soil conditions, drainage, sight lines, and any other items to consider before determining if it is the perfect spot for your dream home.

  • There are a variety of factors that determine the length of time that it takes to complete your home including weather, sub-contractor schedules, lead times for supplies, etc. We are a fully custom home builder so adjustments can be made to the timeline depending on the features that you choose to make your home one-of-a-kind. Our team has extensive experience in building luxury homes, and will be able to guide you through every step in the process so that any potential delays can be avoided. You can expect a timeline of approximately 8-10 months from the time we break ground to us handing you the keys to your new custom home.

  • Our goal is to build you a home that works for the way you and your family live life. We have crafted a variety of floor plans with comfort in mind that we think are a great tool to get the conversation started as to what a perfect home looks like to you. We do all of our design work in-house so you can use our floor plans for inspiration as we can easily modify, add, or omit spaces on the fly, or we can design a home around you and your family starting with a blank canvas. You will communicate directly with our designers making the process fast and smooth, while avoiding the delays and miscommunication that happens so often when a third party is involved.

  • All of us! We are a small and nimble company where each individual has a unique skill set for you to depend on during each phase of the project. Dana and Sarah are experts in real estate and sales of new construction homes. They will get the process started and bring in Erica and Jay to start the design of your dream home. When everything is just right, Sarah will lean on over 15 years of estimating experience to ensure that you have an accurate budget to work with throughout the process. After the contract is signed is where our process becomes truly unique compared to other builders. The team that you’ve come to know and trust up to this point are the same individuals that will take you to the finish line.

    You’ve spent all this time collaborating with the team to design your home, which is typically when you are handed off to a construction foreman to start all over again. At Olive + Oak, Erica and Jay will once again be your contacts to oversee the project as it is being built. If you decide to add a bookcase in the Great Room or Coffee Bar in the Pantry, Sarah will estimate the cost and initiate a Change Order. When your dream home is complete, Dana and the rest of the team will be there to make sure that it exceeds your expectations.

  • We use a bidding approach to determine the cost of your home, which is the best way to get the most accurate estimate possible. When building a truly custom home there are many pitfalls when using a price per square foot system. We have long standing relationships with our subcontractors, and they know what to expect when bidding one of our homes. We prefer to get the bids upfront so that you are well aware of the true cost of any feature that you are thinking of incorporating into your project.

  • As a custom home builder, we are thrilled to work with almost any budget. Collectively, our team has the most experience in building higher end homes in the Fort Wayne area. With that experience we have cultivated excellent relationships with some of the most respected suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors in the area. We value consistency and dependability in all the materials that we use as well as the people that we trust to provide you with excellent service. With that in mind, our homes typically will fall into the $500,000 and up price range based on the current real estate market in our region.

  • The central information hub for all of our projects is Buildertrend. Buildertrend is the gold standard in project management software and enables you to track every aspect of your project wherever you are at that moment. Selections, Change Orders, and Draws are all handled quickly and easily through Buildertrend with a few clicks of your mouse. You can also view your schedule, progress photos, blueprints, or contract documents anytime on any device. While we will always be there for you using phone, text, or email, Buildertrend will keep your questions, comments, and updates organized and always within reach. Organized communication is good communication and Buildertrend allows the homeowner and the builder to stay on the same page at all times.
